pencil on posterboard, it stared out as a doodle on the back of a school project and when i was bored i just added to it, never expecting to finish it, but one day there was nothing left to add. =]
i made the sandy sandy background by rubbing the paper with the side of the pencil with extra rough sandpaper underneath.

Ah, actual tired rings, not just black face paint, like the manga makes it seem. It's good to see something like that, and it's much better than my horrid attempt. Realistic isn't really my style, I guess T.T... Anyway, besides that, you're one of the few that make him look his age and have quite excellent hair happening there.
